Here are the ingredients but we want to tell you what is in our eye makeup remover and why you should use it -
Water Glycerine Glycerine is a very common ingredient in foods as a sweetener. It is used in the makeup remover as a humectant. A humectant is an ingredient that helps hydrate the skin. It helps the cleansing agents do their job in removing the makeup and makes sure that the skin doesn’t dry out.
Leucon Stoc/ Radish Root Ferment Filtrate ( A preservative alternative we are proud of ) Beauty product consumers are turned off by potentially harmful preservatives such as parabens, and phenoxyethanol. This is a new alternative discovered during the Sar’s epidemic.
Researchers in Korea found that chickens fed “kimchi” had a better rate of recovery than those fed standard feed. Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish made of fermented vegetables. Applying the same “Kimi chi” to radish root and allowing it to ferment produces this product. It has been found to provide superior protection and has been recommended as a standalone preservative for cosmetic use and has received FDA approval.
Chamomilla Recutita (Matric aria) Flower Extract The matric aria plant is often used as the herb chamomile. It is used in skin care for its anti-inflammatory and skin sooth properties. It is a great skin conditioning product and is a skin cell rejuvenator. It has anti-reddening and anti-itching effects as well.
Aloe Barbadenais Leaf Juice Aloe Vera soothes and moisturises skin. It also works as an anti-inflammatory. This is widely used in skin care products.
Allantoin In the 1950’s a surgeon began documenting the healing properties of Allantoin. Discovered after a factory explosion he observed that burns treated with Allantoin stimulated epithelial (outer layer of skin) growth, cleaned up sloughing surfaces and reduced the appearance of scars. Since that time Allantoin has been added to cosmetics for its remarkable ability to smooth and soften skin as well as make it more supple.
Many people take soap and eye makeup cleaners for granted. We know they work, but we don't know why. We know water alone can leave makeup a mess. We base our purchasing decisions on brand names and price more than we do on ingredients, and who can blame us? Trying to read the ingredients on the back of a say shampoo bottle can be like trying to read a foreign language for the first time.
So here is the skinny: As water goes through its cycle, it sometimes picks up metal ions such as calcium and iron. These metal ions can make water hard, which is a problem because hard water won't get you clean. Shampoos, eye makeup removers and soaps work as “surfactants”. Surfactants attract dirt and oil and pull them off your skin so it can be rinsed away by water.
Disodium Lauroamphoacetate (mild cleansing agent also used in baby shampoos)
Sodium Trideceth Sulphate (mild cleansing agent also used in baby shampoos)
Citric acid is a weak organic acid, a natural preservative and an excellent chelating agent just like Trisodium EDTA (below).
Trisodium EDTA This is a chelating agent that neutralizes metal ions in hard water and allows surfactants to do their job. Resulting in soft water and squeaky-clean skin.
Ethylhexylglycerin Is a topical skincare ingredient and skin conditioner that is often used in the treatment of eczema. It is also a popular deodoriser and acts as a natural preservative.
He xylene Glycol This is added to perfect the texture. It thins it down and makes it more liquid. Again it is commonly used in personal care products to control texture.
